Engagement Party

The time finally came for our engagement party. It was so much fun! There ended up being about 90 people there and it was a blast!

My Priest came out and did a blessing of our rings which was really great. I loved that I could show my friends part of my culture. It was a very special moment.

We all celebrated and danced the night away! To have all of our friends and family in one place was the best feeling. We laughed, we cried, we partied!

Matt and I learned some valuable lessons for our wedding that night. Make sure we eat, make sure to spend time with each other during the party and make sure to take it all in. It was great practice!

It was an amazing gift for my parents to give us both and there are no words that could show our gratitude!

Time for a Vacay!

Matt and I went to Indian Wells for some R&R before the engagement party. We stayed at our usual Esmerelda renaissance Spa and Resort. We were there for 5 days and 4 nights and we had a great time.

The reason for our trip was to celebrate our anniversary. We indulged in massages, room service and drinks by the pool. It was great to get away and just relax.

Do me a Favor!

Tonight Mom, Lexie and I put together all the favors for the Engagment party. There was a lot to do, but with the help of an awesome team, we got it done.

My Mom came up with the concept and got everything from the store, and we put it all together! She is just so fantastic and always amazes me!

It's a martini glass with candy in it. Around the base of the stem is a thin ribbon with a "thank you" charm around it. Then we wrapped it all in shiny paper and added a leopard skin tag. We attached a martini receipe to it and called it a Shagtini! Our guests will be able to order them at the party too!

Little Blue Box

Today we picked up my wedding ring!!! We had already been there on September 4th and I had bought Matty's ring, but they didn't have mine in stock. So we went back today to pick it up.

I was so excited. The ring that Matty got for me is just beautiful. He went above and beyond. I am so lucky! I can't wait until I can wear it on my finger every day!!!

One year and counting!!!

I can't believe the wedding is one year away. While that is still quite a ways, it seems like just yesterday we were saying that it was 1 1/2 years away! I hope the rest of the year goes by as quickly!

Today we went back to Davids Bridal. It was my Mom, Lexie, Tina, Fiona and little Eva. They had "my" dress in stock in my size. Yes, I'm talking about the same dress from back in June!

I haven't stopped thinking about this dress. Every other one i see in the magazines doesn't even come close. So i decide to take the next step...I try it on..

As soon as I put it on, there was no doubt that this was the dress. All the girls loved it and it just felt so right. My Mom looked at me and said, "I've talked to your Dad, and he said go for it!" I couldn't believe it! My parents bought my dress that day, and I felt like I was walking on air!!!!
