Dress Shopping

>Ok, I know what you're thinking. That I have well over a year before I get married..isn't it a bit early to look for a wedding dress? Well, yes, it is! We were actually looking for bridesmaids dresses.

My Mom, Lexie, Joanna and I went to Davids Bridal to check out the dresses there. We walk in and about 30 seconds later I have lost my Mom. One second she's standing right next to me, and the next, she's disappeared. After some searching, I found her over by the wedding dresses. I told my Mom that I wasn't interested in looking at any because it was just way to soon. I change my mind every ten minutes, there was no way I was going to pick out a dress over a year away.

But then I looked at my Mom's face. She is in awe. She's holding a dress that I have been avoiding eye contact with. The look on her face makes me think I should at least check it out. My eyes drift over and suddenly I have tunnel vision. It's the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. It's everything that I wasn't looking for, but somehow, it's everything I ever wanted. But I held my ground and said "it's just too soon."

We all knew it was "the" dress, but there was just no way I was going to commit to it this early. I would probably change my mind by next week. So we drifted back over to the bridesmaid dresses and moved on. They had some nice things for the girls, but nothing that really caught my eye. Lexie had some fun trying on veils..she will be a beautiful bride some day!

Reception Site

Today Matt and I went with my Mom and Dad, Lexie and Marcus to check out a site for our wedding reception. My parents had already been to see it and we're dying to show it to us.

I don't think that Matt and I had any certain expectations. We were just interested to see what they came up with. The past couple months I had gone to look at hotels and other venues, and they just weren't what we were looking for. It just wasn't us.

When we got to the reception site, it took our breath away! It's called Rancho Capistrano and it's beautiful. It's outside and there are lush grounds, huge trees and a lake! It has such a nice vibe to it and we were excited to say "yes! This is it!"

The big selling point for us was this magnificent tree. It's like it was there especially for us. Anyone that knows us, knows that we have a special thing with trees. So it was just perfect. We were so happy to find something so perfect for us!
