We're Engaged! 04.01.05

Matt proposed to me on April 1st, 2005. Yes, that's April Fools Day! This photo was taken about 20 minutes after I said yes!

He took me to my favorite restaurant (The Rusty Pelican) and then down to the beach. We got an ice-cream at our little place and sat on the wall watching the waves roll in. I thought we'd be heading back home after that, but he said he needed to use the restroom first. So we stopped in at the Doryman Inn (Newport Pier) which is this awesome bed and breakfast that I have always wanted to stay at.

We go inside and I'm expecting him to ask where the bathroom is, but instead he takes a key out of his pocket and opens up one of the rooms! I still have no idea that he's up to anything. I was just surprised and excited that we were staying there! The view was amazing. I could see the pier and the beach, the night sky with the moon shining bright. It was breathtaking.

He sat me down on a chair between the fireplace and the window, and before I realize what was going on, he was down on knee proposing. It was perfect and beautiful and insane! I couldn't believe that it was actually happening.

Of course I said yes! It was then that I found out that the only person that knew about this whole thing was my Dad. My family was in Mexico on vacation so we called them and shares the great news!

We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and letting it all sink it:)

The First Day of Our Journey

Hi there!
I decided to start a little blog to keep all updated with wedding plans and how it's all going. Matt and I both have family that aren't in Orange County, so I'm hoping this will help them feel like they are more part of the process. This is my first attempt at a blog, so we'll see how it goes!
