The latest high-profile couple to split are Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams.

The couple has been together for three years and have a daughter Matilda, who was born in October 2005.

The pair met while filming Brokeback Mountain in 2004. Apparently the split came as no surprise to close friends of the couple. “It was rocky for awhile,” says a source close to the couple. “They did what they could to make it work.”

The source says the split was amicable.
